In the early nineties Franco Rüegger alias Frango was strongly dedicated to the hip hop culture. CD’s and vinyl collected over the years have become a great treasure and remains so until this day. It was from this treasure chest that he made mix tapes in small “editions” which he distributed to his friends. With time Frango opened up to new music and expanded his horizon. Dub, trip hop and other styles influenced his path, eventually gliding into the electronic spectrum of the sound system along with his friends Mondo and Feodor. Stops along the way were the up-tempo jungle and drum’n’bass and finally to progressive house which inspired Frango the most. Primordial rhythms combined with earthy sounds mesmerize him.

As a music lover Frango has collected many styles on CD and vinyl over the years. It has always been important for him to involve like-minded people and let them take part in his musical trips through mix tapes and parties. It’s especially the diverse methods and ways of using these two media that keep him intrigued. His sense of music and mixing techniques were constantly refined through new compilations. Since some time he felt the need to dive deeper into the possibilities through the ever simplifying possibilities of home recording which inevitably created a stronger sense and understanding for new tracks and how to integrate them into exhilarating DJ-sets. These inebriant radio mixes are currently aired on various internet radio stations. The main aim is to spin the turntables for ever growing audiences, even transgressing the borders of his homeland. He will also continue to compile this new wave of music as mix CDs and intends to distribute them in growing quantities to fellow followers. In cultivating international contacts through internet radio Frango intends to keep his imagination fired when it comes to new projects and compilations.
