DJ COMMENTS:

Don’t just take our word for it, check what out the DJ’s who have played there said…

“Exit Festival was great, amazing night, played from 3am till 6.30 when the sun came up and to see so many people in a moat was something else.”  Carl Cox

“Probably the best festival in Europe. The setting, the vibe of the people and the production is amazing. Dare I say that it puts most of the uk festivals to shame?’” Christian Smith

“An absolutely amazing festival both in terms of the crowds that came and the people behind the scenes. The setting was amazing with the sun coming up and the sound system was intense (as opposed to in tents which would normally be the case at a festival but I digress), I was so happy that I could finally be a part of this and would like to thank everyone that came along.”  Dave Clarke

“The Exit festival was really magical! The place was unbelievable – a rave up a mountain. The energy of the people was fantastic – the crowd were so enthusiastic. I had SUCH a great time playing there.”  David Guetta

“I found the Exit Festival very inspirational; that so many people came together, through electronic music, for a great cause… Amazing!”  Felix Da Housecat

“Exit festival was excellent…I had a really good time playing. The site, the crowd, everything was really good Look forward to go back next year”. Hernan Cattaneo

“Truly an experience I will never forget!!  Playing with the sun out in such beautiful surroundings to such an amazing crowd is what it’s all about!  …and it’s for a good cause!!  Can I play next year too?” DJ Hyper

“Exit festival was definitely the highlight of my year so far. It was truly amazing. The vibe was so positive from the people and having Goldie jump on the microphone at the end as I played Inner City Life (Future Funk Squad Remix) is something I’ll never forget. It was a gig that I could’ve only dreamt about and I’ll still be buzzing from it for years to come.”  James Zabiela

“It was a fantastic experience to play at the Exit Festival this year, the atmosphere was electric. I look forward very much to returning to Serbia to play.”  Jeff Mills

“The only thing I can say about EXIT 06, it was PERFECT! Very professional, amazing sound system …….and……. need I say more?” Junior Jack

“Definitely the best festival we’ve had for the last 7 years I think” – Kid Crème

“We had an amazing time, breathtaking festival, really lovely people involved and a gig that you feel very lucky to have played at…very special” Layo & Bushwacka!

“Exit 2005….WOW!!!…25,000 people dancing, but with the intensity of a club for 400 people. Simply amazing!” Lee Burridge

“it was without any doubt one of the most memorable experiences we had so far. 20000 people raving to your tunes is a feeling that is hard to describe. But the other stages were also amazing and the little ones had many interesting music to offer. Hard to top this festival!!!”  M.A.N.D.Y

“Exit, was unforgettable for us. Absolutely amazing setting with such a buzzing atmosphere and it all came together as the sun came up. Playing to 25000 people on the last night. Our best gig for as long as I can remember. We took time to really have a look around the site and get a feel for the place. Then went to see the Cubans tear the place apart with their brilliance. >From then it was a case of how can it be as good as that…. well it was phenomenal and we can’t wait until we are asked back again. Big love and respect.”  Mutiny (Rob & Dylan)

“One of my best all time sets, and possibly the best festival in Europe” Nick Warren

“WOOWWW!!  My first time @ Exit and i loved it!!  Never seen a such number of people staying at the site untill we turned the sound off!  One of the best gigs in my career for sure!  And to make even better, i have a big love & respect  for the promoters also the crowd over there!! Patife (Marky & Patife)

“I’ve never seen a better way to ruin a 18th century fortress, fuck the past here’s to the future!”  Peter Hook

“I great pleasure playing for such a massive event with an amazing crowd, that is thus far one of my best event this year.” Sandy Rivera

“Best party I’ve done in ages, amazing setting, top production, wicked atmosphere and a fantastic crowd who were totally up for anything, a pleasure to play at!”  Smokin Jo

“This was one of the best and most impressive festivals I’ve played in Europe so far! Very, very good!!!” Timo Maas

SW4 2007 (London) Announces Forth and Final Arena

Sunday, May 13th, 2007

Following the success of last summers Ibizan Underground Arena featuring some of the hottest residents from the White Isle we decided it only fitting to being back this special dash of Ibizan magic and this time featuring a selection of the coolest movers and shakers that are pushing the sound you will hear eminating from clubs and sound systems across this party island.

Leading up the charge will be one of the coolest and cutting edge DJ and producers on the scene Timo Maas. Having been one of those names at the forefront of club culture since the mid 90’s Timo has carved himself a niche for being one of the most forward thinking DJs on the scene. His sizzling sets at Ibiza Clubs such as DC10 and Space have seen Timo stamp his mark not only on the island but also on the psyche of clubbers the world over! Joining this German powerhouse will be the man formerly known as ‘The King Of Space’  Steve Lawler. Back for his third year Steve joined us in 2005 to play the Main Stage, returned in 2006 to host his own Ibiza-inspired arena and this summer Joins Timo and the crew in the Ibizan Underground. Next up, two more Germans grace our line up – one of Techno’s defining artists, the legendary Thomas Schumacher, there’s not much more to be said than to hear this man perform is one hell of an experience. Rounding up the German invasion in Martin Buttrich who is probably best known as the engineer behind Timo Maas but he drifts from making Italo House through to sophisticated pop alongside the likes of Sugarbabes. For South West Four Martin leaves behind the a list pop to deliver a selection of the most cutting edge dance music for your aural pleasure. Finally heading up the bill is one UK / Ibiza veteran Pete Gooding. This man’s residency at Café Mambo has caused more ‘Ibizan Moments’ than any other whilst our final spot goes to local lad Aaron Baskerville.

**JOSH WINK TOUCHES DOWN IN BEDROCK INTERNATIONAL ARENA**

We’re proud to welcome one of America’s pioneering DJ and producers to join the massive Bedrock International Arena. Since the early 90’s Josh Wink has been pivotal in shaping the sound of techno, acid house and much more. Having released a stream of mid 90’s hits including ‘Don’t Laugh’ ‘I Am Ready’ and one of the defining records of 90’s club culture ‘Higher States Of Conciousness’ Soon after he started his own label ‘Ovum Records’ which has been pushing the more tribal edge of techno music. Josh is probably best known for effortlessly mixing musical boundaries in his sets and his forward thinking approach to DJ’ing and production. In fact we can safely guarantee you will be hard pushed to find a more prolific proponent of club culture gracing Clapham Common this summer!

**UK NO.1 ARTIST THE SHAPESHIFTERS PLAY LIVE ON THE MAIN STAGE**

Having taken South West Four by storm last summer when they smashed Pete Tong’s Essential Arena, we couldn’t help but invite The Shapeshifters back for a second year, this time giving them the prime position in front of 10,000 sun drenched party people on the Main Outdoor Stage.

The Shapeshifters are Simon Marlin and Max Reich who over the past three years have established themselves as a chart topping production duo and internationally recognized DJ team. The pair met in 19996 in Max’s native Gothenburg it was not until 2003 that the duo first sat down in the studio together to combine Simon’s love of house music with Max’s studio excellence and a slice of late night inspiration with Simon’s wife Lola, the result ‘Lola’s Theme’ hit the top of the charts eight months later, spending a further 8 weeks at the top of the airplay chart marking the welcome return of house music to daytime radio in the process so much so that The Shapeshifters were nominated for a Brit Award in the process! With three more top 40 hits and the launch of their debut artist album ‘Sound Advice’ in 2006, The Shapeshifters make a welcome return to South West Four to perform news tracks that will undoubtably be the sound of the summer!

SOUTH WEST FOUR RETURNS – BIGGER, BETTER AND STRONGER THAN EVER BEFORE!!!

The South West Four returns as part of this summers Metro Weekender (together with indie-dance days Get Loaded In The Park / Cardiff Calling) to Clapham Common in London (Sat 25th) for its fourth sell out year and Coopers Field in Cardiff (Sun 26th) for it’s second sell out show following a storming debut last summer! This summer’s event features the world’s No. 1 DJ Paul Van Dyk leading the charge in both cities alongside global megastar Sasha, house music’s all time great Roger Sanchez and Radio 1’s Guv’nor Pete Tong. The legendary Timo Maas and breakbeat dons The Plump DJs  also travel down the M4 for both days alongside the deadly pairing of Marco V & Sander Van Doorn.

London sees SOS – Demi, Desyn Masiello and Omid 16B set free on 6 CDJs, 3 mixers, 3 laptops and three FX units on the main stage whilst in the tents see John Digweed’s pioneering Bedrock brand present a one off Bedrock International Arena featuring Hernan Cattaneo, Eric Prydz, Sander Kleinenberg and Jimmy Van M whilst The Gallery & Heat UK tent welcomes Ferry Corsten alongside Radio 1’s Judge Jules and of course the brand new Ibizan Underground Arena announced above!

Over in Cardiff there’s been a slight reshuffle with the tents and we’re proud to announce our first Drum N Bass Arena. With such a huge scene in the area we’ll be bringing LTJ Bukem, Goldie, Andy C, Fabio, Grooverider and High Contrast to give the sound system a proper rinse out! Elsewhere the throbbing Time Flies / Fire It Up Arena sees Radio 1 Resident Eddie Halliwell head up the arena alongside Gallery superstar Tall Paul, Marco V & Sander Van Doorn alongside local heroes Dave Eaves, Bionic Allstars and The Cool House Soundsystem.

Save Net Radio – CRB Postpones Deadlines to July 15th

Saturday, May 5th, 2007

The future of net radio is at stake.  Recent royalty rate fee hikes threaten many US-based net radio streams. These fees threaten many independent radio streams in all genres not just in dance music. This postponement of fees allows appeal to be made. Act now and help to save independent internet radio from rediculous fee hikes.

Released from FMQB — http://www.fmqb.com/Article.asp?id=400471

The Copyright Royalty Board (CRB) has officially posted its ruling on Internet royalty rates in the Federal Register. However, the organization has pushed back the due date for royalty payments to kick in, from May 15 to July 15. The publication of this information also allows the 30 day period for appeals to officially begin. NPR is slated to file an appeal in this time frame.

The SaveNetRadio organization calls the decision “welcome news for webcasters…artists…and listeners,” and notes that it will “spend the next 45 days educating Members of Congress and their staffs about the incredible diversity of programming Internet radio offers us all. We will set the ticking clock back 45 days and continue the fight to free Internet radio from these devastating fee increases”

SaveNetRadio led a march on Washington, D.C., as webcasters, musicians and label representatives met with members of Congress to discuss the Internet Radio Equality Act. Further actions in the nation’s capital are set for today [May 3rd].
