Paxahau Presents MOVEMENT 2009 May 23-25, 2009 at Hart Plaza, Detroit

Paxahau is proud to present Movement 2009 to take place on May 23, 24 and 25, 2009 at Hart Plaza in Detroit, MI. Since 2000, Movement has become the ultimate stage for the city that founded techno music to showcase its electronic music muscle. Last year’s attendance nearly reached 80,000 over three days on Detroit’s Hart Plaza during Memorial Day Weekend, with fans enjoying 36 hours of their favorite electronic music artists and DJs performing on five stages and was named “Festival of the Year” by the readers of URB Magazine.

“Every year our goal is to build upon the success of the previous year by bringing the best available local, national and international talent to Detroit in order to create a weekend experience unlike any other in the World,” said Jason Huvaere, president of Paxahau. “Our team spends a lot of time selecting artist and DJs that will appeal to electronic music enthusiasts. This year there will be a major Detroit presence at the festival as well as some performers that rarely set foot on stage in the United States.”

The Prodigy Invades Movement 2009

The Prodigy will play the official opening party for Movement 2009 at The Fillmore in Detroit on Friday, May 22. Chuck Flask, Paxahau Resident DJ and Evan Evolution will be performing in the State Bar. The doors open at 7 p.m. Early bird tickets for this all ages show are available starting at $20 by visiting www.livenation.com. VIP tickets are available.

The group that has had major hits with “Firestarter” and “Smack My Bitch Up” is back on the road in support of their new album Invaders Must Die, which reached number one on the UK charts. This is their first U.S. Tour in eight years.

PAXAHAU CELEBRATES TEN YEARS OF PREMIERE ELECTRONIC MUSIC EVENTS WITH THREE NIGHTS OF MUSIC AND A NEW WEBSITE

Paxahau, a Detroit music and event promotions group, electrifies the
city with three days of music and a new website to celebrate their ten
year anniversary.  The event kicks off at Exodus on Thursday night,
August 28th, 2008 and continues on Saturday night at Oslo, Sunday day
at Z’s Villa and Sunday night at Northern Lights Lounge, all located
in Detroit.

“This project has been an incredible adventure over the past 10 years
and has accomplished a lot here in Detroit,” said founder Jason
Huvaere, “A weekend of music with old friends Minus and Perlon
celebrates not only Detroit and Paxahau, but also recognizes the
international relations that have supported the Detroit music scene.”

From online broadcasting to a full-service booking agency, record
label and event promotions, Paxahau has established itself as a
powerhouse in Detroit, contributing to over 20 events a year,
including Movement: Detroit’s Electronic Music Festival.

A long awaited new version of paxahau.com ( http://www.paxahau.com )
will be launched Friday afternoon, August 29, 2008, with updated
features to support Detroit’s electronic music community and Paxahau
events.  The site will have features including; photo galleries, event
calendars, community events and blogs, electronic music supporters,
Movement updates; and coming this fall, a new online radio show.

Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Exodus
Located in Greektown, Exodus will host a pre-party with music from
three of Paxahau’s residents DJ’s, Chuck Flask, Rich Korach and John
Johr, along with Exodus resident Gabe Real, doors at 10pm.

Saturday, August 30, 2008 at Oslo
Sushi bar by day and intimate dance club by night, Oslo will host the
second night of music with Zip and Chuck Flask beginning at 10 pm.

Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Z’s Villa
Minus joins Paxahau for the celebration at Z’s Villa, located on
Piquette Street, featuring DJ’s Richie Hawtin, Magda, Rich Korach and
Dan Bain, from 1-10 pm with volleyball, horseshoes and a lunch menu.

Sunday, August 31, 2008 at Northern Lights Lounge
Cassy and John Johr end the festivities at Northern Lights Lounge,
doors at 10 pm.
