We’re proud of all of our accomplishments and strive year-round to provide excellence for our clientele at every level. On the multitude of awards, Dean continued, “To be recognized by the industry for these top awards really is an honor and it will be something that is shared by all of us, each night on the dancefloor as we continue to recreate the magic each and every weekend.

Moon Nightclub Las Vegas Has Sweet Tooth for Hed Kandi

Europe’s House Phenomenon lands Monthly at Moon Nightclub inside the Palms Casino Resort

(Las Vegas, Nev.) March 30, 2009 – When you think of Las Vegas, automatically the word party comes to mind. And no hotel is better affiliated with the word than the Palms Casino Resort. The Maloof-owned property whose nightlife management is directed by the N9NE Group has gone into partnership with Europe’s #1 nightlife brand Hed Kandi to bring the authentic UK clubbing experience to Sin City.

“Musically, Hed Kandi is all about style! Judging by the number of requests for what some people now term Hed Kandi music, its sound has almost become a genre in itself. First and foremost the brand is about seriously good club music. To define that more clearly it would be true to describe this as predominantly vocal, soulful house, US garage and glittering disco – always deliciously stylish, of course!” says Andy Horsfield, President of Hed Kandi America.

Part of the partnership will also include the release of HED KANDI LAS VEGAS CD. The compilation will be recorded and mastered in the Palms Recording Studios and made available via iTunes. This endeavor will be a first for both properties.

“We are excited for this new relationship with Hed Kandi and look forward to expanding the experiences we currently offer our guests at Moon Nightclub,” said Vice President of N9NE Group, Michael Fuller. “Over the course of this next year, our goal is for our venues to continue to be globally recognized for offering the best mix of music in Las Vegas, and the addition of Hed Kandi is a perfect step in that direction.”

Hed Kandi will present their events monthly is conjunction with GOODLIFE Sundays at Moon Nightclub. Guests may expect both live performances and DJs during the night bringing that quintessential Hed Kandi sound.

About Hed Kandi:

Launched in 1999, Hed Kandi has evolved from humble beginnings as a compilation brand into the global phenomenon it is today. With a catalogue spanning over 60 albums, a number of artist projects and three UK Top Ten singles and a host of Top 40 hits to date, Hed Kandi is now a globally respected brand.

Delivering these styles of music with a sense of humor to grown-up clubbers eventually snowballed into Hed Kandi parties and their first full residency began in London in 2002. The buzz about the most lavishly produced club events seen in the UK at that time soon spread and the first parties were road blocked. The popularity of the nights increased exponentially so that residencies started to crop up all over the UK. Hed Kandi parties now happen in all continents of the globe – a true phenomenon.

Then of course there’s Hed Kandi’s radio empire – currently pumping out six broadcasts of the hottest tracks every week in the UK across the Galaxy network and on MoS radio.

About Moon Nightclub:

The Palms Casino Resort’s Fantasy Tower ups the ante for luxurious suites, over-the-top amenities, gourmet dining and serious partying in Las Vegas. The N9NE Group operates Moon, the exclusive penthouse nightclub loaded with high-end finishes, VIP accommodations and a spectacular view of the Las Vegas Strip.

Moon occupies the very top floor of the Palms’ Fantasy Tower, just above Nove Italiano, and is connected to the Playboy Club by glass and mirror-ensconced escalators.  Upon entering Moon, guests automatically find themselves in a dramatic, surreal environment unlike any other in Las Vegas. The floor is covered with shimmering glass tiles that change color via a computerized lighting system as guests move about them, while a curtain of glass beads hang over the majestic floor-to-ceiling windows.

Moon is intimate and exclusive and offers VIP amenities and state-of-the-art technology.  The club’s main room boasts what is arguably the most spectacular architectural feature in Las Vegas—a massive retractable roof that when closed, serves as a large video screen, exhibiting giant images of the action on the dance floor.  Cushy booths line the perimeter of Moon’s main room.  In the rear, another bar and two lounge-style rooms accommodate guests seeking a sensual, laid-back experience.

Moon Nightclub is open Tuesdays and Thursday through Sunday from 10:30 p.m. – 4 a.m.  For additional information, please visitwww.n9negroup.com or calling 702.942.7000.

THE END PRESENTS ‘SHAKE IT’ STAGE

New to South West Four this year is The End presents ‘Shake It’ stage. The End was a symbol of London’s clubland, at the very fore-front of every major movement and purveyor of all things electronic and groovy. Sadly the world said goodbye to The End in January 2009 when the club shut, but the spirit and passion lives on with its owner Layo Paskin, who launched his new warehouse concept ‘Shake It’ in March. Layo & Bushwacka! are the first names to be announced in The End presents ‘Shake It’ stage with some seriously huge headline guests and support DJs to be announced very soon. “I was blown away by SW4” says Layo, referring to his debut set at last summer’s South West Four festival. “We had an early afternoon set and I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it was packed and had a great crowd and atmosphere. It was a highlight of my summer”. Read the full interview with Layo below.

THE GALLERY STAGE

Quite simply London’s leading weekly club, The Gallery returns to South West Four this summer to host its very own stage for the 4th year running. Establishing its reputation for ‘Excellence in the Art of Sound’ each and every Friday night at the legendary Turnmills for 13 years, The Gallery’s move to Ministry of Sound in April 2008 was greeted with open arms by DJs and clubbers alike. The famous south London club was the natural new home for The Gallery and week in, week out, they continue to amaze with some of the biggest line-ups on the planet! The Gallery’s SW4 line-up will be announced at The Gallery’s 14th Birthday on Friday 24th April at Ministry of Sound where Armin van Buuren is amongst the headliners. You know from previous years that The Gallery has ALWAYS delivered the goods in this department, and we can confirm there are some MASSIVE names on the bill for this year!

GLOBAL UNDERGROUND STAGE

Debuting at South West Four in 2009 will be world renowned dance label Global Underground. The GU imprint is arguably dance music’s most established and iconic record label and has been synonymous with the world’s leading electronic artists since 1996! As such, Global Underground’s SW4 stage will feature an array of globe-trotting headliners alongside newer breakthrough talent from their current roster. “GU is happy to be bringing its sound to SW4” says the label’s main man Andy Horsfield. “It’s been a while since I found a festival good enough for us to want to be involved. Global Underground is proud to be hosting a stage this year at South West Four.”

Look out for a special appearance from GU master Danny Howells, who’s completed a hat-trick of releases on the label… ‘GU 27: Miami’, ‘GU Nu Breed’ and ‘GU 247’. Danny is also a seasoned veteran of South West Four, as is Nic Fanciulli who’ll be racking up his 4th appearance at SW4 this summer. Nic’s debut GU compilation is released at the end of April. Next up is Nick Warren, a GU man through and through. Nick has released more compilations than any other artist, as ‘Lima 35: Nick Warren’ became his 8th release in total! SW4 debutant James Lavelle is bringing up the rear with his 3rd mix set to drop later this year, plus there’s another debut on the day from the latest Nu Breed mixmaster Jim Rivers. Meanwhile, future superstar Anil Chawla makes his second SW4 appearance on the spin, following the highly acclaimed release of his debut album ‘Roadhouse’ (with partner Dale Anderson) on GU in February. And yet there’s more… look out for one final very special guest to be announced real soon. Mmmm?

EXCLUSIVE LAYO PASKIN INTERVIEW!

Firstly, I think we speak on behalf of everyone in clubland in congratulating you on everything you achieved at The End and given to London. How hard a decision was it to call it a day?

Thank you. It was hard because we were all so emotionally involved and it had been our lives for a long time, but deep down we knew that the timing was good and the opportunity to have a full story and walk away on our terms was a special one. We didn’t feel there was more we could do but continue and we didn’t want to lose the passion that made it the place we all loved.

How has the closing of The End changed your life on a day to day basis now that the dust has settled? What do you miss the most?

Yes but I haven’t had as much time off as I thought I would! But that is down to me, I’ve been in the studio a lot, we organized shake it but I am beginning to enjoy the freedom. I miss working with the team there; we had a real family vibe.

Did you take any cool memorabilia from the club?!

Yes lots. But the best bit is a piece of the original flooring with the dates of the club’s history inscribed; it looks good in my home studio.

New for 2009 is ‘Shake It’, your new warehouse concept. How did the launch party go with Laurent Garnier?

Fantastic, but it was a lot of work with just a few of us and not the whole end team…

Was it weird hosting a party away from The End?

Yes definitely, for the first hour all I could think was this wasn’t The End but then I relaxed and the party took on its own identity and it was fantastic, reminded me of when I started in all the good ways.

You made your debut at the South West Four festival last summer on the Main Stage, how was that for you?

Awesome. I was blown away by SW4. We had an early afternoon set and I wasn’t sure what to expect but it was packed and had a great crowd and atmosphere. It was a highlight of my summer.

This year we’re privileged to have you guys hosting one of the arenas. Tell us more…

Well Danny [from SW4] approached us and it was great to be asked because London is our home. SW4 is already an amazing event and we are doing new parties in the form of “Shake It” so the combination felt perfect. We’re really looking forward to it.

What’s the best thing about outdoor festivals in the summer and do you have any essential festival survival tips?

Well of course it is weather dependent, but somehow that weekend always is pretty good, partying outside is the ultimate and of course we aren’t spoilt in England with sun so I think we all really embrace each opportunity. Festival tips? Enjoy the moment.

What’s your favourite festival drink?

Nothing too unique, it’s not easy getting the perfect drink in a field but a cold beer always washes well.

What’s been your most shameful festival moment – be it on a social level or whilst performing… come on be honest…?!

Honestly nothing I can remember, I have slept in the back of my car a few times which always seems like not too bad an idea till you wake up…

Now the weekends are totally yours again, will you be making up for some lost time with tours galore on the horizon?

Yes but I have been on the road pretty much relentlessly for ten years, still I love to travel.

What’s next for Layo & Bushwacka in 2009? Production, DJ wise etc

Studio, lots of it… remixes for artists from Fatboy Slim to labels such as Plus 8, pretty varied and lots of tracks for our label, Olmeto. And of course DJing somewhere near you this year.

Sasha & John Digweed To Headline South West Four!!

Monday, March 30th, 2009

sw4-main-stage-1SASHA & JOHN DIGWEED (BACK TO BACK) – UK FESTIVAL EXCLUSIVE

The heat has been cranked up this summer as London’s No.1 Dance festival South West Four can reveal that dance legends Sasha & John Digweed will be this year’s official headline act. Playing a UK Festival Exclusive B2B set, SW4 is the only festival in the whole of the UK where you’ll get to see both DJs playing together. Sasha & John Digweed will be closing the day’s events with a climatic final set on the main stage, as the day turns to night and the real fireworks begin!

2009 marks the 6th year of South West Four and the 5th year in a row for Bedrock supremo John Digweed. Quite simply a SW4 legend, John has played all but one of our festivals on the Common and remains very excited about making it 5 not out this summer… “It’s fantastic to headline this year’s SW4” says John. “I’ve been very lucky to play at nearly all of them, so this should be extra special. It’s a very well organised event that brings out a really cool crowd, and the line-ups always feature the cream of electronic talent. It’s not often you get to play a big outdoors gig in the centre of London and each year it seems to sell out quicker!!

Having featured in DJ Magazine’s Top 10 poll for 10 consecutive years, John has pioneered the progressive and electronic house movement since the early 90’s, via his beloved Bedrock parties and headline-grabbing shows all over the world. It was way back in 1993 when a certain Alexander Coe (aka Sasha) heard his demo that the pair first met… and the rest as they say is history. The duo’s residency at Twilo and the Delta Heavy Tour in the US are the stuff of legend and their epic Northern Exposure CD (released 1996) is still widely regarded as the greatest mix compilation ever made.

Sasha has a similar up bringing in music to John, and like him was instrumental in evolving the progressive house scene. A Grammy nominated artist and acclaimed producer, Sasha has released some of the most memorable compilations of all time through cult labels Renaissance and Global Underground. He’s recently released the Invol2ver album through GU and was one of the first DJs to use Ableton technology in his sets. South West Four holds a special place in his heart having headlined the first ever festival back in 2004. He was back by popular demand to headline again in 2005 and now after 3 year absence… the mighty Sasha is back at SW4 this summer, and back with John Digweed!

“We don’t do that many festival shows together” continues John, “so we’re both really looking forward to SW4 as London is the clubbing capital in the UK and the crowd really know their music. We never really plan anything, but I’m sure there will be some surprises in our set!”

Proton and Frisky Radio Join Forces and WMC 2009 Gets Hit with SCANDAL!

Monday, March 23rd, 2009

scandal-200x200For the first time in Internet dance radio history, giants friskyRadio and Proton Radio come together in Miami to create SCANDALThursday, March 26, 2009.

For over six years, each station has thrown its own successful party at WMC in Miami, FL.  Both stations’ audiences and artist base come from all corners of the world, so friskyRadio and Proton Radio have always believed WMC is a special way to connect with listeners, artists, and friends, face-to-face.

Inspired by their commonalities in purpose rather than their differences, the two stations decided to “reach across the aisle” and doing a WMC party together in 2009 brings these faces from around the globe even closer together.

In an unprecedented move, the two long-time rivals are glad to extend the peace pipe and burn something special for this year’s WMC revelers. The result – SCANDAL!

To celebrate the newly united spirit, Proton and friskyRadio have decided that SCANDAL! will feature headliners who have shows on both stations. Many listeners may not realize the stations share several residents, most of whom are the best and brightest stars in the dance scene.

SCANDAL! hits South Beach – Thursday, March 26, 2009.
Get ready for fun, mayhem and the best music that friskyradio and Proton Radio have to offer.

DJMag Top 100: Armin van Buuren Voted #1 DJ @ Roseland 10.31

Thursday, October 30th, 2008

The official and full results of the British DJ Mag Top 100 poll were revealed last night at the official ‘DJ Mag Top 100 DJ’s Party 2008’ in London’s Ministry of Sound. DJ Mag announced that Armin van Buuren has been voted number one DJ for the second year in a row!

Armin van Buuren has been listed in the DJ Mag Top 100 since 2001, when he entered the poll at the 27th position. In 2002 he climbed up to the 5th position, and in 2003, 2004 and 2005 he was listed at the third spot. In 2006 he moved up to the second place, until eventually in 2007 he topped the Poll with a number one position. And this year he did it again!

2007 and 2008 have undoubtedly been 2 of the busiest, yet exciting years for Armin van Buuren. Next to hosting his award winning, weekly radio show ‘A State of Trance’, which is being broadcasted to across 40 FM stations around the world and with an estimated 25 million listeners, Armin has released his third artist album ‘Imagine’. The album entered the Dutch album chart with a number one position, and was therefore the first dance album in Dutch music history to ever achieve that. Armin also toured the world with his ‘Armin Only: Imagine’ concerts, with the sold out first edition in the Jaarbeurs venue in Utrecht, providing more than 16.000 party people a stunning show and exclusive 9 hour set.

Armin’s reaction: “For me this is an incredible honour, because it’s an award from the votes of so many dance music lovers that went online to vote. I‘d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone for their support. I could have never done this without the help of so many people. My management, David Lewis Productions, Armada & Cloud 9. Thanks to DJ Mag for an incredible year, thanks to all clubbers, fans, promoters, club owners, magazines, websites, radio stations, record labels, etcetera. Thank YOU!“

Pacha NYC presents BENNY BENASSI : Rock’N'Rave Tour – 11.7

Tuesday, October 28th, 2008

Pacha NYC presents Grammy Award winning Italian electro-house superstar Benny Benassi with an opening set by Ultra Records own David Waxman at Pacha NYC on Friday, November 7th.

Benny Benassi hits the states with his fourth studio album, ‘Rock ‘n’ Rave’, including the hit single, “I’m Not Drunk”. The album stays true to Benassi’s electro style with the majority of tracks being heavily structured around a repetitive synth hook, shouting the odd computerized vocal. While Benassi might be best known for his 2002 summer club hit “Satisfaction”, he has a long list of accomplishments spanning the past six years. “Satisfaction” reached top spots in Singles and Dance Charts across Europe, receiving praise from the likes of Carl Cox, Roger Sanchez, and Darren Emerson to name a few. A year later Benassi released his debut solo album, the campy and quirky “Hypnotica”, which won the European Borders Breakers Award in 2004 and also racked up the most sales for an Italian album outside of Italy. In the same year Benassi found himself ranked 18 in the DJ Mag favorite Top 100 DJ poll. Soon after, he founded his own label, Pump-kin Music, which primarily focuses on new and unsigned producers, with the goal of bringing exposure to the lesser known DJ/production talent across the world. In August 2007, Benassi released a remix of Public Enemy’s “Bring the Noise”, for which he won a Grammy for Best Remix (Dance) in early 2008.

Pacha NYC: EVOLVE w/ VICTOR CALDERONE + ADULTNAPPER – 10.18

Wednesday, October 8th, 2008

Pacha NYC is pleased to present the return of Victor Calderone’s scene defying party EVOLVE, joined by special guest Adultnapper on Saturday October 18th, 2008 at the globally renowned and award winning club in the heart of New York City.

The success of the EVOLVE parties lies in Calderone’s ability to blend the old with the new, the crowd favorite with the obscure, and to span genres from banging tribal to techy minimal with grace, the right amount of sexiness and loads of energy. Victor’s EVOLVE residency was a staple in NYC’s nightlife for the last 2 years and he now returns for one more unforgettable night with Pacha NYC ’s over-the-top debauchery, spectacular sound, quality production and dazzling lighting.

For 20 plus years, Calderone has achieved an amazing career of successful residencies, chart-topping productions and star-studded remixes. With an early cult following and underground vibe, Victor shot to dance music stardom with massive hits like “Give It Up,” “Beat Me Harder,” and “Resonate.”  As a producer, his natural studio talent attracted some very big attention, leading to remix work with some of pop music’s most popular artists, including Depeche Mode, Goldfrapp, Beyonce, Sting and Madonna.

Calderone’s music and his parties continue to push the boundaries of the genre and evolve along with his forward-thinking sound and ever-growing popularity.

NYC’s arch tech selector Adultnapper is a shadowy figure drawn from the dark reaches of Francis Harris’ imagination.  Born in Las Vegas, raised on punk rock, and schooled in philosophy, Harris went from “hating dance music,” to establishing himself as a DJ/Producer with a unique sound and a global audience. His often introspective productions, which have appeared on Audiomatique, Nummer, Mule, Dirt Crew and Superfreq, defy convention; relying instead on a sophisticated, song-based approach, marked by elaborate swung micro-rhythms, thick musical baselines, complex arrangements and haunting tonal melodies. As a DJ, primarily mixing records, Harris employs precision skills and thoughtful programming to expand upon Adultnapper’s sonic territory, earning him turns on the world’s most discerning dancefloors; Panorama Bar, Fabric, DC10, Ibiza, The End, London, Cielo, NY, Weekend, Berlin, Pawn Shop, Miami, and Avalon, LA are just a few that he’s taken on one of his trademark emotion-laden rides.

In 2007, Harris launched Ransom Note, a concept label which, through music, text and imagery, will tell the story of the Adultnapper character, an anti-hero who is part creative genius gone awry, part tortured dystopic philospher, part paranoid vigilante outlaw… and part Harris himself.  Adultnapper’s enigmatic Ransom Note series continues with it’s third episode. This time the plot thickens as the narrative’s shadowy author fades to the background, setting the stage for the prophetic return of Alexi Delano in the form of ADNY, with two revelatory new tracks. “The Forms” EP also sees the introduction of the story’s first heroine, Camea, who rises to the challenge of remixing “Under My Skin.” Out now on collectible 12inch vinyl with color picture sleeve featuring drawings by John Stroud and text by Adultnapper.
