Dot Dot label owner Joel Armstrong, is no stranger to the game, having created a very strong following worldwide over the past number of years for his spacious and deep grooves.
Crossing the barrier between deep house, tech house & progressive, Dot Dot Records will act as an outlet for Joel Armstrong's material first and foremost and will feature remixes from a collective of friends who also coincidentally couple as superbly talented producers; including Bastards of Funk and Sonic Union (as featured on the first release), Inox, Timo Rozendal, Dumb Dan, Stian Klo, Gerwin Koudjis and many more.

After only 3 releases, Dot Dot Records is going from strength to strength, garnering support from deep house, tech house, progressive & techno DJs alike on each release. Something for everyone so it would seem.
Opening the EP, “Vancity Magic” opts for a warm, stab laden, house groove, with its sharp hats and short snappy beats working perfectly with that twisting lead line. Perfect dance floor house music, lush vibes for the summer. As expected from Joel, the production quality is sublime
Track 2 “Go Go Go” takes things deeper and bleepier, with plenty of glitches. Perfect for warm, hazy summer evenings
Last, but certainly not least, track 3 “Fireplace” takes things a little chunkier again, but still keeping that deep jazz edged vibe throughout, this time using subtle bit crushing to great effect. Warm chords, warm bass, house grooves, what more could you want. Enjoy

Reviewed:
For those of us who like funk, melody, and punchy beats in our dance music, Joel Armstrong has been a welcome addition to the community and industry over the past several years. His production techniques are outstanding and his energy is undeniable.
For the third release on his own Dot Dot Records, Mr. Armstrong goes pretty deep into the techno area of things, frequently eschewing hooks and cerebral chord progressions for tough hats and crunchy basslines.
"Vancity Magic" has a fun charm .... 3.5/5 [Royal Sapien]
