NSM006 Virus J & DJ Sun - We Are The Robots (Jun 19th, 2008)
Release Date: Jun 19th, 2008
» User Rating: 3.5/5
» Promo Pool: 3.6/5
» Top Rank: Reached #8 on Jul 2nd, 2008
Virus J & DJ Sun first hit most people's ears through releases and remixes on Distraekt (Pilliavin & Zimbardo's label). Since then, their work has been supported by John Digweed, Hybrid, Anthony Pappa, they even found themselves opening up for Underworld.
"We Are The Robots" has a funky bassline, driving beats, vocoded vocals (paying homage to Kraftwerk no doubt), lots of weird hits, mechanical noises and melodies. This is a cross-genre, energetic piece of tech-electro house. DJ Sun a.k.a Bisquit Plum gave us a great remix under his alternate moniker, with a simpler base, cool techno stabs, and a quirky, slightly haunting bell lead.
