Outside the Box Music (Rotterdam, Netherlands)
outsidetheboxmusic.nl
"To think 'Outside the Box' is to see things beyond the norm, to think beyond the limitations of consciousness and experience. To be a visionary".

Outside the Box Music was launched in 2006 and is the creative outlet of Dutchman Eelke Kleijn. Besides being a home base for his own productions, Outside the Box Music aims to release quality music from upcoming as well as established producers. In terms of music the label is as diverse as its name suggests, many releases not being easy to pigeonhole into a certain style but instead cross the conventional borders between them.

With releases and remixes by the likes of Dualtone (Johan Vermeulen / Jermain Hatusupy from Fine Taste & Infinitize), Kosmas Epsilon, Nick Hogendoorn, Roger Martinez, Sebastian Davidson and head-honcho Eelke Kleijn himself, the label has built up a pretty varied sound and identity. DJ Support has come from many different corners, including Hernan Cattaneo, Jimmy van M, Anthony Pappa, Fish Go Deep, Paul van Dyk and Nick Warren. Outside the Box Music is slowly but steadily becoming a well known name in quality house music.

OTB015X Sebastian Davidson - Cherry Blossom EP Part 2 (Sep 17th, 2008)
After releasing Sebastian's 'Cherry Blossom EP part 1', we're back with part 2! This time including the track 'Ice Worlds', both in the original version and Eelke Kleijn Remix, as well as the Nosmo v Kris B Remix of 'Things That Get Lost'.

Ice Worlds starts off with a very distinct bassline. Short noise hits, pads and punchy percussion are added along the way. A great track to warm up a night with, and already tested succesfully by Her

OTB015 Sebastian Davidson - Cherry Blossom EP Part 1 (Aug 27th, 2008)

For our 15th release, future superstar Sebastian Davidson is back on the label with a wicked double EP. The first in this series, Cherry Blossom EP part 1, features his own tracks Cherry Blossom and Things That Get Lost backed with a lush remix by Spiritchaser. The first track on the EP, Cherry Blossom, evolves around an enchanting melody which Sebastian has become so well known for. Clever vocal bits are introduced along the way. Small bre

OTB014 Yvel & Tristan - Legacy / Sacred Spirit (Jul 31st, 2008)
» Reviewed [View]
As a 14th release on Outside the Box Music, Yvel & Tristan from Hungary have joined the roster. Certainly not unknown in their own country or worldwide for that matter, Yvel & Tristan have already seen their tracks appear on labels such as Global Underground and Renaissance. They were the first Hungarians ever to appear on a GU compilation. Last year they released their first mixed CD for Justmusic.fm, launching their name even further among the

OTB013 Neos Deos - Dazed EP (Jul 17th, 2008)
Thirteen is certainly not an unlucky number for us here at Outside the Box Music. With three amazing originals, Neos Deos (consisting of Da-Milio, Les Luca and Berry Le Funk) have a great debut release on the label. Their sound is not easy to pinpoint in a certain direction and can probably best be described as intelligent techno. 'Dazed' is based on a haunting organ sound that evolves throughout the track. Clever breaks and edits keep the track

OTB012 DJ Tim & Andi Vasilos - Lucky Girl (Jun 5th, 2008)
» Reviewed [View]
Both hailing from Greece, DJ Tim & Andi Vasilos are no strangers in the scene. Having remixed artists such as Elusive, Terry Grant and Matt Rowan, they have been going strong ever since their first release in 2005. With Lucky Girl, they deliver a funky slab of house music. Stabs and hits are introduced along the way, emphasising the groove in a really clever way. This will definitely appeal to all house lovers.

J-Soul from Russia is on

OTB011 Edwin Mulder & Ferdy - Trainstation EP (May 7th, 2008)
Edwin Mulder & Ferdy are already well known from the Selective events they organise in their city Sneek in the Netherlands, as well as from their cooperation with fellow Dutchman Sebastian Davidson on the Global Underground label. Their 'Trainstation EP' on Outside the Box Music is one of the deeper things we have done so far, but as you are aware we love variety and this release is no exception.

Trainstation North is also remixed by I

OTB010 Nick Hogendoorn & Eelke Kleijn - Fat Dragon (Mar 27th, 2008)
» Reviewed [View]
Our 10th release is destined to become a big one. Nick Hogendoorn and label manager Eelke Kleijn once again return to the label with a big room monster which has already been successfully floor tested by Hernan Cattaneo and Anthony Pappa. Haunting strings, weird effects and a bass line which will blow you away; this one has got it all.

Next to the original, we have Global Underground and Extrema featured producer Francesco Pico turning

OTB009 Heatsteric - Boiling Point (Feb 11th, 2008)
» Reviewed [View]
Hailing from Israel, Pini Falach aka Heatsteric delivers a great 9th release on Outside the Box Music. We picked this up as soon as we heard it. Driven by a wicked, punchy bass line, Boiling Point has a catchy progressive groove to start from. Short stabs and melodic hits carry the track along, electro influences make sure it has that aggressive, current day sound. Yet Boiling Point does not fall into clichés, staying interesting, funky and dance

OTB008 Fading Ocean - In Too Deep (Dec 24th, 2007)
Hailing from Lebanon and currently living in Amsterdam, Fady Ferraye has spent many years as resident DJ at B018 in Beirut. He has performed besides internationally renowned artists such as Deep Dish, Paul Oakenfold and Tiesto while his tracks have not gone unnoticed either, receiving support from Hernan Cattaneo and Andy Moor among others. Michael Tomaselli (M'Ocean) on the other hand resides in New Jersey. Since the mid 90s he has been playing
