Proton Music was founded in April of 2005 by Proton Radio director and Particles host Jason Wohlstadter (aka Jay Epoch). The inspiration for the label came from it's first release, "Fingerpaint" by Digital Witchcraft, which at the time was having trouble finding a home.

The label aims to capture the variety of genres played on Proton Radio while keeping true to Jay Epoch's musical taste: atmospheric and melodic electronica. Visit ProtonRadio.com for the official Proton Music website with detailed information on all our releases and extended previews of all our tracks.

Proton Music releases biweekly on Beatport, iTunes, and other digital retailers.

It is an all Australian affair as Kriece and Lewie Day step up to the plate to remix fellow countryman Sam Fraser's well reviewed "Little White Lies" single from the "Square One EP".

First up is Lewie Day, a relative newcomer to the scene who is expected to make big waves in the months ahead. Already prominent with a bestselling release on Audiotherapy and a lovely indie release on 8Bit, Day's debut EP is at hand on EQ Grey with two amazing tracks. Look for "Captain Haddock's Phrasebook EP"-- you won't be disappointed.

Kriece, aka Peter Elliot, is a Proton Radio resident DJ and label manager for a wonderful stable of digital labels including Arabica, Spinifex, Kindred Sounds, and Illegal Ninja Moves. He is one of Australia's most important contributors to our scene. This guy has the business sense and the DJ/production talent to back it up and pull it all off.

1. Little White Lies (Original Mix)
2. Little White Lies (Lewie Day Remix)
3. Little White Lies (Kriece Remix)

Original Mix: Proton is always on point in my book. The bassline is smooth with a key change that keeps the groove deep and moody. A borderline creepy synth swims in and out filling in the mid range reminds me of an old Bedrock track Evol D "insect". Some higher range pads fill in the gaps and a tiny yet well placed little melody slides in to take it up just a bit more. Pretty simple overall, definately an early night warmer upper. Lewie Day Rmx: Proggy breaks with some deep funk smoot.... 4/5 [Matty]
