Proton Music was founded in April of 2005 by Proton Radio director and Particles host Jason Wohlstadter (aka Jay Epoch). The inspiration for the label came from it's first release, "Fingerpaint" by Digital Witchcraft, which at the time was having trouble finding a home.
The label aims to capture the variety of genres played on Proton Radio while keeping true to Jay Epoch's musical taste: atmospheric and melodic electronica. Two very impressive facts about Logiztik Sounds biography should catch your attention. First, he is one of the only DJs on Proton Radio to ever have had more than 1,000 listeners tuned in to his mix. Second, he is the recent #1 winner of the Sasha "Mongoose" remix contest on EmFire/Beatport. How is that for a resumé?
His debut EP for Proton Music features two original progressive house tracks and has been a while in the making. Written some time ago, "Switched Hours" is a classic progressive house track given a recent twist by Israeli duo Brisker & Magitman. The B-Side is our personal favorite, a new melodic techy number called "Hangdown Sorrow" that is remixed by German Newcomers Schoenbrunn & Pfennig, artists behind the new Observe records label.
Look out for a radio show hosted by Logiztik Sounds coming to Proton Radio later in 2008.

Logiztik Sounds, out of Uruguay, drops this solid progressive four-tracker with remixes by Schoenbrunn & Pfennig, and Brisker & Magitman, brought to you by Proton.
Hangdown Sorrow brings it with its deep rolling prog arpeggios, pumping pads and creeping sweeps.
The Schoenbrunn & Pfennig version has a great sci-fi edge to it. They’ve added in some extra percussion and beefed up some of the sounds, providing a bit more energy without much deviation from the original.
