Proton Music was founded in April of 2005 by Proton Radio director and Particles host Jason Wohlstadter (aka Jay Epoch). The inspiration for the label came from it's first release, "Fingerpaint" by Digital Witchcraft, which at the time was having trouble finding a home.

The label aims to capture the variety of genres played on Proton Radio while keeping true to Jay Epoch's musical taste: atmospheric and melodic electronica. Visit ProtonRadio.com for the official Proton Music website with detailed information on all our releases and extended previews of all our tracks.

Proton Music releases biweekly on Beatport, iTunes, and other digital retailers.

Matt Rowan (Australia) gets the single treatment on Proton Music with the release of "This, That, and the Other". Originally featured on Ricky Ryan's Feedback compilation the tune is now revisited by two of the scene's respected producers.

Roger Martinez (Amsterdam) took center stage last year with a Top 10 best seller on Beatport with "Instigate" that was followed by EP releases on Proton Music, Eelke Kleijn's Outside the Box, Baroque, and more. His remix of Matt's original is crisp, techy, melodic progressive goodness. Handpicked by Tiësto to remix a forthcoming album track as well as a remix of the upcoming "Monday" epic by Carlo Dall'Anese, 2008 will be a big year for this upcoming producer.

Tech House legend Jeff Bennett (Sweden) returns to the label for the second remix on this single. An extremely prolific producer with releases on Poker Flat, Plastic City, and may more, Jeff is also the label manager for the Kung Fu Dub record label and host of the Proton show Kung Fu Dub Sessions.

And for Matt Rowan, with an album in the oven, the best is yet to come...

01. This, That and the other (Jeff Bennet Remix)
02. This, That and the other (Roger Martinez Remix)
03. This, That and the other (Original Mix)

Another solid release on Proton Music, this time from Matt Rowan (Australia). "This, That and the Other" originally featured on Ricky Ryan's Feedback compilation is now revisited by two of the scene's well respected producers. The original mix is a solid prog builder with a nice melodic synth structure and a dirty grooving basslines, a good fit for a home set or a nice floor builder. Roger Martinez (Amsterdam) provides a nice chunky house remix with groovy pads and well placed pattern .... 5.0/5 [Mike]
