Proton Music
(Los Angeles, Calfornia, United States)
protonradio.com
Proton Music was founded in April of 2005 by Proton Radio director and Particles host Jason Wohlstadter (aka Jay Epoch). The inspiration for the label came from it's first release, "Fingerpaint" by Digital Witchcraft, which at the time was having trouble finding a home.
The label aims to capture the variety of genres played on Proton Radio while keeping true to Jay Epoch's musical taste: atmospheric and melodic electronica. Visit ProtonRadio.com for the official Proton Music website with detailed information on all our releases and extended previews of all our tracks.
Proton Music releases biweekly on Beatport, iTunes, and other digital retailers.

PSE0802 Various Artists - Summer Particles (Jul 10th, 2008)

It is 109 sweltering degrees fahrenheit in dry Los Angeles, home of Proton director and Particles host Jay Epoch. Summer is definitely here. The heat is nothing to celebrate, although the Santa Ana winds blowing the smog from the sky is a welcome change from the usual June gloom. To accompany the season comes a collection of exclusive & previously unreleased tracks hand picked for their deep, progressive sounds. The usual Particles vision remains intact: Melody, Atmosphere, and Emotion permeate all the songs on the LP. Each track here will blossom into more releases on the label...
01. Coretuc - High Speed Space Express
02. Michael Feihstel - Lux
03. Timo Camillo - Timbuktu
04. Carlo Dall Anese, Fabio Castro - Minigroove
05. Arthur Deep - Melchior
06. Micah - Life with a Robot Butler
07. Royal Sapien - Drifting
08. Gerwin Koudijs - OnChange
09. Matt Rowan - Hot Steppin' (Soliquid Remix)
10. Mango - Sayonara

Reviewed:
Proton's reputation in dance has seen changes since those underground net radio days, so as a label growing out from this, it came of no surprise the standard they brought to the table or even our decks. In truth from the radio shows to the label we have seen alot of respected people come from them and so the label continues its legacy. Summer Particles could be just what they need for mainstream success. In fact, respected UK labels might need to watch out. This should translate well across to.... 5/5 [Simon Latham]
