Proton Music was founded in April of 2005 by Proton Radio director and Particles host Jason Wohlstadter (aka Jay Epoch). The inspiration for the label came from it's first release, "Fingerpaint" by Digital Witchcraft, which at the time was having trouble finding a home.

The label aims to capture the variety of genres played on Proton Radio while keeping true to Jay Epoch's musical taste: atmospheric and melodic electronica. Visit ProtonRadio.com for the official Proton Music website with detailed information on all our releases and extended previews of all our tracks.

Proton Music releases biweekly on Beatport, iTunes, and other digital retailers.

PROTON0064 Tarmo Vannas - Topaz - Part 2 (Jul 9th, 2008)
Release Date: Jul 9th, 2008
» User Rating: 3.8/5
» Promo Pool: 3.7/5
Tarmo Vannas, host of the weekly TechTribe Essentials show, is back on Proton Music with Part 2 of his "Topaz" EP. Part 1 came out last year featuring progressive remixes from Derek Howell, Benz & MD, and Federico Epis.

This time things go a bit deeper. Part 2 has remixes from Satoshi Fumi, Spin Science, and Electriano. Tarmo has re-done the original as well, crafting it into an 11 minute epic. As the line between techno, deep house, and progressive blur we're happy to say we don't really have any idea what genre to classify these remixes.

Keep an eye out for Japan's Satoshi Fumi who has a debut album on Klik records soon and Spin Science with a new EP coming soon on the always classy Urbantorque.

01. Topaz (Spin Science Remix)
02. Topaz (Satoshi Fumi Monddia Remix)
03. Topaz (Tarmo Vannas TechTribe Remix)
04. Topaz (Electricano Remix)

Darin Epsilon (USA)
"Wicked package! It's a real toss-up between the Electricano and Satoshi Fumi remixes. Something good in every version, I think this EP will have mass crossover appeal for Progressive and Tech House crowds." - 4.5 / 5
