Proton Music was founded in April of 2005 by Proton Radio director and Particles host Jason Wohlstadter (aka Jay Epoch). The inspiration for the label came from it's first release, "Fingerpaint" by Digital Witchcraft, which at the time was having trouble finding a home.
The label aims to capture the variety of genres played on Proton Radio while keeping true to Jay Epoch's musical taste: atmospheric and melodic electronica. Artego has really come into his own after emerging from his Blendbrank partnership with successful releases on BugEyed, Global Underground, and Proton Music. His tunes have been supported by Jody Wisternoff, D-Nox, Kosmas Epsilon, and Ricky Ryan. Now his energetic & acidic genre-blending tune "Superjuz, originally released on Sick Watona close to a year ago, is re-invented on Proton Music in 2008 with brand new progressive & techno remixes from Emjae, Max Cagliero, Poshout, and Klever.
The highly sought-after Emjae delivers a one-two punch with a classic progressive house remix with a sound he's know for and a completely out of-no-where absolutely epic techno rendition that will redefine what we expect in the future from one of the scene's most respected & successful producers.
The release also features some wonderfully diverse progressive house from new-comers Max Cagliero, Poshout, and Klever. Their discography may not be as fleshed out as the release's two other artists, but a quick listen will prove they've got a bright future ahead of them! Don't miss these guys.
