Proton Music was founded in April of 2005 by Proton Radio director and Particles host Jason Wohlstadter (aka Jay Epoch). The inspiration for the label came from it's first release, "Fingerpaint" by Digital Witchcraft, which at the time was having trouble finding a home.
The label aims to capture the variety of genres played on Proton Radio while keeping true to Jay Epoch's musical taste: atmospheric and melodic electronica. One of the hardest working DJs in the progressive scene, Micah Lukasewich returns to Proton Music nearly 3 years after the release of "Pale Creatures" back in 2005 on Lance Cashion's best selling "The Sound" compilation. The new "Antiquated Reliquary" EP reveals a collection of classic tracks from Micah's vaults, four previously unreleased classics ranging from Progressive House, Breaks, and Downtempo.
This release marks the beginning of Micah's renewed efforts with Proton. 2008 will see the relaunch of his Ruhnsong imprint on Proton Music as well as a remix release of His Boy Elroy's "Step Into the Light". And as always, you can catch his monthly radio show on Proton Radio.

Micah - Antiquated Reliquary
Proton Music have brought back an old favourite of mine, Micah Lukasewich brings us more tantalising melodic prog and once again reasserts that he sure is one talented guy.
One of the most memorable productions Micah Lukasewich has made, in my opinion of course, is the absolute classic remix of Bent – As You Fall (Micahs Swollen Booty Mix) as featured on the first Balance Series C.D. mix compilation (mixed by Chris Fortier).
