SUESSE, phonetically pronounced as ‘ZOO-SA,’ records was conceptualised by Richard Colman and was later established in November 2005. The name of the label is derived from the German word for ‘Sweet.’ The label initially started out as a digital only label but not long after released 12” vinyl due to excessive demands from record shops and DJs who preferred to still play from vinyl. Since then SUESSE music has been made available exclusively through our friends at Beatport before hitting all the other download stores. Musically the label looks to cover many different types of Electronica with Progressive/Electro House being at the forefront of the label’s releases. The musical remit is to champion underground productions as well as more commercially radio friendly offerings. This has been best exemplified by artists such as Redsky, Marc Leaf and the Group Dynamic from the commercial side of the fence as well as producers such as Daley Padley, Jake Chec and James Robson from the underground camp. The label also caters for recognised and established acts that are looking to release material under perhaps different guises to which they may already be known as. In a relatively small amount of time repertoire from the SUESSE offices have been played by some of the biggest DJs (Pete Tong, Dubfire, David Guetta, Fedde Le Grand, Steve Lawler & John Digweed) on the planet, on some of the biggest dancefloors in the world (Pacha, Ibiza, Ministry of Sound, London, The Arches, Glasgow) as well as some of the biggest radio shows across the airwaves (Radio 1, Galaxy FM, Radio FG.) SUESSE Music was soon born from the record label and now consists of a Music Publishing division as well as an artist management company. This approach offers artists a 360 degree representation for an artist as well as a one stop shop for licensing partners. The SUESSE team has an insatiable desire for the championing of new musical talents and hopes that its repertoire inspires others in the same way that it inspires them.

DDSUE0015 Jake Chec - Do What You Do (Dec 20th, 2007)
Release Date: Dec 20th, 2007
» User Rating: 5.00 / 5
This offering sees the introduction of Jake Chec to the SUESSE roster. Jake is Polish born but resides in Toronto Canada where he hosts his own radio show on Clubzub 100.7 FM. Coming from a musical family it was a natural step out of the playground and into the studio and from an early age Jake learnt many instruments before falling in love with electronica through synths, keyboards and later software. Jake’s style is progressively tribal as well as nodding respect to the electro sound that most dancefloors demand today. His show, The ‘Executive Mix’ is listened to by over 20,000 Canadian and American listeners and Jake holds two residencies in Toronto. The track ‘Do What You Do’ is a sleazy tribal workout.
To compliment Jake’s mix we have the omnipotent James Robson who delivers a belting deep progressive workout with his Global Dub mix. James has had two of his own productions released by SUESSE in the form of ‘Scream’ and ‘Radical’ both of which have received good support amongst tastemakers in the UK and beyond. This remix takes things firmly into the Sasha/Digweed territory with a monstrous 9 minute mix that broods plenty of darkness layered over a deeply rumbling progressive bassline.
