Swordtail

swordtailrecords.com
Swordtail Records is a new label out of down under Australia. The label aims to bring you some of the freshest progressive sounds from Australian producers and also from others around the globe. With Australia not having many progressive based labels at the moment, we here at Swordtail thought it was time to try and sort that problem out.
Initial releases and remixes will see acts such as Native, Trafik, 4Mal, Retrobyte and Daniel Gregory unleashing some deep, twisted and atmospheric sounds. The label will begin with some upfront digital releases available from a variety of digital stores and in the future will also be bringing out some top line compilations and singles in CD format.
All releases will come with a variety of mixes to cover off different styles going from Electro through to Trance. Many of the releases will bring new and exciting vocal talents to the forefront. If you have any tracks that you think we might be interested in, then simply visit the contact page and drop us a link to your tune. In the mean time, we hope you enjoy what Swordtail Records has to offer the wonderful world of music.

Facets starts off this release with a brilliant depth that is hard to describe, the track ebbs and flows with lush melodies throughout. Dellicatessen toughens things up a little, but still brings an array of leads and melodies which give the song a vibrant and interesting style. The Facets remix from DI and SOP picks up where the original left off and maintains a very subdued vibe which creates a strong atmosphere. The Stain's remix closes out the package and this take is more on a tribal tip with nice sub bass combining with great cut up leads and nice atmospheric stabs.

"Very beautiful music with lots of substance and depth. You can tell some hard work was put into this EP. I think these are nice and chill but not really strong enough to play out on the dancefloor." - 4.0 / 5

Australian dance label Swordtail offers us the work of Mexico's Redloft, hot on the heels of his exceptional remix of Pete Lunn's Flammingos.
Starting with Delicatessen this little melodic number soaks you with its ambient drift. It has some old school progressive charm about this one and except for his modern production we are sent back to the hayday of this genre. The beat is straightforward and mixes well with the deeper moments within.
Facets contin.... 4/5 [ Simon Latham]
