Last month saw Taiwanese imprint High Note Records release "Moments." The new 2 x CD + 1 (downloadable bonus) mix from Aussie jock Anthony Pappa stands as a great example of where progressive house and techno are headed at the moment.

"Moments" draws on tech house, minimal, and techno to set the stage before dropping the progressive house like a bomb with P..

Bruno Renno and Renno Records has come a long ways since it's initial start. With tight production and quality remix work, this re-release of 'Next Level' has proven that Bruno and the label have definitely gotten there.

There isn't an original mix in the release: Round One, Round Two and Flawless Victory are each original sides of the work, which has vocals by Moe I..

-Pablo Barboza Original- loving the Indian vocal all chopped up, never get sick of those. The beginning sounds a bit cheesy with the old school house piano, but when the main bass kicks in everything is juuuuuuust fine.

Dirty synth stabs, beefy deep bass, and a brooding bassline that creeps up about 2/3 the way through. Overall this cut is still pretty energetic..

-Sick Day Getaway- These all should get some play time from the big boys. This bassline is a touch electro with subtle key changes that keep the energy moving. Pretty flutelike stabbs work with mid range pad hits that fill the spectrum nicely. Midway through a distorted guitar solo's as the song strips down.

This was a good set up for the last mid-high synth that..

-Le Grande Gazou's Cyborgs Fetishism Rmx- Pretty slow but not deep. Kicks off with a solid break beat and works its way into a key changing funky bassline and some vocodes lyrics...... "violence, drugs, and sex".

One minute into it, the 4/4 swings in with the strangly infectious bassline thats simply AWESOME!!! The vocals (no idea what they say) create a nice trip..

Will Dashwood brings us Introspect on his very own Potion Records London.

The intro comes in very mix friendly. By the time this kicks off a bit we are hit with plenty of atmosphere, and some of the melody hits on more percussive sounds adding a little extra groove.

More cutting sounds enter, but keeps that mix balance and transcends its way through rooted i..

Italian label Oryx Music release "Danny Darko and Save the whales" this seems to take us on a trip to a theme of a more conventional style of progressive.

At the intro the chord pattern comes and someone get on tweaking the res, simple yet effective.

The sound is oceanesque yet has rising moments as it to floats to the surface and then sinks back into a mor..

A collaboration between Pole Folder and Shelley Harland had my attention at the credit so Proton has done well to secure such a good release.

Opening with "Radio 101" Franceaco Pico Remix this covers all the elements you would expect from a classic prog number and with such depth. There is a nice drive and shuffle about this mix too with an air of ambience too, real..
