Tin Pot DJs - Minted (Airport Route Recordings)
Release Date: December 12th, 2007
Reviewed: 3.5/5
User Rating: 4.0/5

Airport Routes offering here Tin Pot DJs seem to be getting some nice returns for such a new act.
Minted seem to attempt to bring you back to the golden age of progressive, phasing synths, strong simple beat and a lead piano, mimicking the likes of the pianos great that graced our dancefloors for many years.
If simplicity is in fact the key here then maybe i can draw you attention to Shai Du Laks offering which seems to be the main attraction to this 3 pack mix, although the hook is its own repitition it somehow just grows and breaths softly onto you eardrums each sound seemingly where it should be.
Sandwiched inbetween is Lectrowaves Filter Filth Remix this is a gutsy mix on this the track somehow is cleverly morphed for the original state into a grinding number which has the whole nasty low fi thing exploding from every bleep.
In my opinion i have got to stand by the bigger DJs that plucked out the Shai Du Lak remix, it doesnt light up darkest club but does offer a soft breeze, or filters you sweetly into a laidback progressive moment.
Be interesting to see what comes out of Reykjavik next!
