Omid S - Audio Waves (Ascension Records)
Being raised in France and born in Iran Omid S was exposed to a variety of music and sound. He didn’t really get involved in the scene until his family moved to the United States and he heard music different than anything else he had ever heard before and experience a connection with it. He has remixed Paul Bowen’s “Impaired Perceptions” for Ascension Records which is due for release this year. His latest is titled “Audio Waves” which was released February 21, 2008 ad includes a remix by Jeff Belfi.

Audio Waves (original) – Starting with a beat and a simple mellow loop it gives you that feeling of walking in off the streets to a club as the rest of track starts to come in. Audio Waves has great synth loop work as well as a background melody and fx that are there but not there with a perfect blend of levels. A well structured break in the middle of the track keeps it fresh and new. Good all around track…great for layering, and loads of fun to mix.

Audio Waves (Jeff Belfi Mix) – Kicking it off with a bass beat, funky vocal loop, and some watery fx’s this remix has you bouncing your head to it right away. Great fx work (lots of it) and structuring. Jeff Belfi does a great job of incorporating the original into his remix with hints of proggy electro house and just a dash of minimalistic he has created a very nice remix with a very interesting ending.
