The Hamptons - Don't Know Any Better EP (audio logic recordings)

For a young label Audio Logic seem to have been putting out a stream of quality releases in the last few months, Topher Jones and Ben Brown being shining stars amongst them.

Keeping the high standard doesn't seem to be a problem and they continue with a fantastic debut EP from The Hamptons. Though I'm not sure if you can call two tracks an EP, more like a double A side in old money. Anyway, I digress.

'Don't Know Any Better' is the first track. A strong, solid beat and chord backdrop set the mood before a killer synth line is introduced which builds quite intensely to a break. It's then gets interesting with some nice chord changes and drops, all perfectly produced.

The second track 'Too Much' provides a nice contrast with it's 'popcorn' style lead sound and grinding synth bass. It builds with a cutting bass leading to a break down before revealing a tasty melodic kick. It's not as lush as the first track but would work equally well in any modern progressive set.

You can see why this label is attracting some top name attention and I'll definitely be adding them to my favorite labels list. Recommended!
