Derek Howell - Adam West Plus (Proton Music)

-Sick Day Getaway- These all should get some play time from the big boys. This bassline is a touch electro with subtle key changes that keep the energy moving. Pretty flutelike stabbs work with mid range pad hits that fill the spectrum nicely. Midway through a distorted guitar solo's as the song strips down.

This was a good set up for the last mid-high synth that reminds me of old Platipus synthesizers. Lots of peaks and valleys, I really like the way everything works together.

-Bizzity Bam- Hard kick and a more aggressive synths and stabs than the first song. As the not quite disco wah pads filter in and out a MONSTER sub bass fills up the room. Half way in, your left with a mid-high synth line that takes over track as it goes from a simple synth stab to a full on melodic journey that peaks out with a touch of guitar.

-Bizzity Bop- The deeper more psychedelic version of "Bizzity Bam" The rhythm is a lot more involved here. More of the functional elements are mid-low range synths and bass. The layers still work their way up to a good melody, the rhythm takes over, everything swirls back together and somehow ends up psychedelic again. ol Blizzity climbs high then plateau's and keeps the energy up there. There was a lot of momentum going on by the end of the song.

-Ambiguous Venture- Not as many ups and down with this track. It has the same feel as the others. Its builds up into a pretty melody then tapers off with a high end guitarish lick.

All of the tracks remind me of Michael Burns EP from Little Mountain Records 2005(?), one of my favorite EP's to date. These tracks will still be good in a few years. Nice one Derek, these stand out from the crowd.
